Attitude adjustment

Please disregard the previous post! The sun is trying to peek through and I've had an adjustment to my attitude....

Not interested

I'm just not interested in knitting on these socks. I'm totally not into them. And the purple pair is sooo close. It's a little scary actually. I'm not really interested in knitting anything right now.

These guys are waiting to be planted but the weather needs to cooperate a bit first.....

and quit raining all the time!

I just know it's the grey weather that has me in the doldrums. Isn't it the 1st of June?? Were are the warm temps? Why are my spring flowers just getting blooming now?
Life is good, though, for one in our household....

The picture of contentment!

Teddy's new bed

A bed for Teddy. Made out of Paton's Classic Wool. The pattern is this one on Ravelry.

Testing it out prefelted.

Felted and then blocked over my big blue canning kettle. It's the biggest round thing I could find in the house!

Checking it out.

It'll do.

Saturday Sky, some flowers & more finished knitting

Saturday sky. Yes, our trees are just budding out. Hard even for me to believe.

Pretty flowers in a pot. The geranium was a Mother's Day gift from 1st DS and his family. I added a couple others to fill in the pot. Hopefully I didn't overdo it like last year. When I went to take the dead flowers out of the pot all the soil came with. It was totally rootbound from too many plants. Live and learn!

Baby set for Great niece's upcoming baby. I used Lion Brand Baby Soft. 3 reasons. I had it on hand. The color was right. And if she uses it at all and has to wash it, it couldn't be wool. Trust me. I know her. I didn't like the knitting with it though....it really did squeak when I used bamboo needles. Freaky.

Real name is Hospital Hat but I call it an Umbilical Cord Hat. Don't study on it too hard though. The decreases are a terrible mess.

Seamless Yoke Baby Sweater. This is the 4th time I've knit it. I left off the decorative stitches and did the stripes instead to make it more manly. Little boy manly. Whatever.

Scrambling

Why is it that you can go for months....yes literally months...without anything going on and then blam! everything happens at once. Augh!

I have
  • a baby/bridal shower to attend [yes, one of those....teenager (great niece) with an unplanned baby]
  • a bridesmaid dress to alter....wedding is the 1st weekend in June. Another great niece in another wedding.
  • a wedding gown to alter for the expectant niece....wedding is 4th weekend in June
  • plan the lunch for a funeral at our church
  • work in the kitchen at the funeral next week

A diverse set of things, no? Some of these things are the same....some of them are different. (What is that from?? Sesame Street?)

It is spread out over a bit of time but it all piled on at once this morning. I'll be able to handle it but I just had to rant for a bit. Thanks for listening.

/I read this over and it is a bit spastic. Kind of like I feel right now. o.0

I'm tickled pink!

The Haruni Shawl is finished. Happy Dance! Shown here with Teddy checking it out. He loved this yarn. Dream in Color Smooshy. He wanted to be under it all the time. He was a lot of help while I was knitting it. ;) ;)

I know blocking pictures are pretty dull but I was so excited about this I had to post. I blocked it in less than an hour with one hand tied behind my back. Well, not really. But I was talking on the phone to my sister so I did most of it one handed and 1/2 brained. Of course that is nothing new...

I just love this lacy edging. sigh.
I'll try to do fancier pictures another time. Today is cloudy, windy and drippy.
I'll also try to remember to show you the tiny crochet hook that I ended up using for the bindoff. Plus all of my mom's tiny crochet hooks. But that is a story for another time.....

It's windy and smelly here. augh

We have a wind from the south that is bringing in a wonderful smell from the city lagoon. I started out the day with a headache and it definitely got worse once I got to work. I think I'm going to throw down a couple Tylenol with my Diet Coke and hope it helps. And a clothespin for my nose might not be a bad idea either! o.0

There is slow progress on the Haruni shawl. A couple days I didn't knit at all. I didn't sleep that well those nights either. Connection? I don't know.... Anyway, I got a couple rows done last night. It took about an hour to do the pattern row. Of course DWTS sort of got in the way at times! There are over 400 stitches on the needles now and will be more before there are less. It is fun to watch the pretty lacyness (laciness, lacieness, laceness?? Is there someone who knows how to spell out there?? I sure don't! I don't always trust spell check either.) develop. The main reason I decided to do the Haruni was for the pretty edging on it. Blocking time might have me feeling differently!
