What the post office had for me today!

Lotsa fun at my house today! Isn't it pretty? I've never used Cascade yarn before but I know that people love it. It feels really nice so far....I've fondled the skeins a little! ;)
I'm thinking of making either Flower Basket Lace Shawl by Evelyn A Clark or Norwegian Woods Shawl by Sivia Harding.
Biggest decision now is if I should start one of these or finish the Haruni that I have on the needles first! Decisions. Decisions.

Maybe it is spring

The daylilies are growing. I think I was able to cut the dandelions out of the picture when I took it but I have some of them growing too. ;)

There are so many of the same kind that maybe I should replace some with something else. I have my MIL's peonies out at the farm yet. That would be a nice addition if I bring one of them in here. I think that is actually kinda cool that we still have plants surviving that were hers.

And look at this! My bergenia is going to bloom! It is maybe it's 4th summer and granted it doesn't have a very healthy look to it but something must be right if it's willing to bloom. Woo Hoo!

The seed plant is really busy now and I have a stack of invoices on my desk to get entered in the computer and then mailed out. The farmers are all ready to start in the field. It's a bit earlier than usual and most of the time that is a good thing. The earlier things get planted here the better they do.

Oh, and did I mention my bergenia is going to bloom?? What fun!

Furminated

I used the Furminator on Teddy today. I only got a pile of fur about the size of a small cat this time. 3 days ago when I did it last I got a large size pile of fur. He must be getting over the spring shedding time. That's a good thing!

He doesn't like getting combed very much. I have to shut the door on the laundry room so he can't escape. This picture was taken after I got done and he'd had his treats so he knows it's over with for another time....he looks more relaxed.

Isn't he handsome when it's done?

TGIF

This is approximately 1,400 scale tickets...give or take a hundred. I numerically sorted them. It took the better part of a day. In the end this is what I had:

Thank goodness that job is done with for awhile.

We've had wind and I'm kinda busy!

Yup, it's definitely been windy. The grill took a little trip. It was parked next to the bench facing the same way as the bench. 40 mph winds for about 3 days will do that I guess....

The grass is getting a hint of green. I have to keep reminding myself that this is unusually early for no snow and none in the forecast. We've had significant snow in May. So greening grass in April is an amazing event!
The farmers are getting ready to go though and the seed plant is hopping. I'm trying to clear off my desk now for the flood of paper that is headed my way shortly!

I've made progress on the Haruni (Ravelry link) shawl. The pattern is really easy so far. I'm about 1/2 done with Chart A. It's Chart B that I'm waiting for. It will probably be a bit of a challenge for me but I'm up for it.
The yarn isn't blue. It's teal green. This was taken in the sunlight and it still looks blue. Maybe an incandescent bulb would make it the right color. Frustrating.
This week is full of church related things. Church council tonight. Planning the lunch for a funeral tomorrow morning and a hotdish to make for that and on Saturday it's our spring fundraiser. A Pie Social and Bake Sale. Gotta make a homemade pie and 3 items for the bake sale and I'm on to make coffee and lemonade all afternoon. I'd like to take the easy way out and just donate the $30 but if no one participates it'll be a bust and so being the "good girl" that I'm purported to be I'll be baking! Now if someone would just tell me when I should be doing this I'll be all set! o.0

Finished Object!! Woo Hoo!!

The Leaf Lace Shawl (Ravelry link) is finished. I started it oh so long ago and it was ignored for most of that time. But I finally finished some other things that I just HAD to get done and voila!

I used size 6 Addi lace needles. Love 'em. And the yarn is Louet Gems, 4 skeins. Love it too. I had a little left over and had wished all along that I could do an extra repeat but I don't think it would've been enough for that. The yarn bled just a bit in the wash....just enough to make the water a very light shade of pink.

I'm just tickled to death with it and loved doing it. Thank you Cookie for suggesting this pattern. It is perfect for beginning lace knitting. And because I fell in love with lace knitting I started this.....

Haruni (another Ravelry link) in Dream in Color Smooshy. Colorway Blue Lagoon. Size 4 Addi needle. I think I can handle the pattern. The hardest part so far was remembering how to do a provisional cast on. But I'm on my way. Fun!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Here's wishing you a wonderful day!
Disclaimer on the flower picture. It's from last year. There isn't anything green here yet. But most of the snow is gone!! :)
